The ISMS is a forum for the exchange of information relating to the business of soul music and a showcase for new and emerging Soul artists.

• The inaugural Summit in August 2006, planned in 4 weeks over 500 attendees.

• IN 2007 over 1200 attendees and the addition of evening activities.

• IN 2008 over 1900 attendees and added (3) live events each night and introduced workshops.

ISMS will be filled with continuous panels (artists, retail, radio, management, performance, consumers, etc.) live performances and concerts/acoustic jam sessions, a themed networking session, DJ parties, and unsigned artists showcases. Soul Music has evolved into a distinct subculture that reaches across traditional ethnic and economic backgrounds. Soul music continues to be a major component of urban culture. It is both urban and suburban. It cuts across a rich cultural spectrum, encompassing Blacks, Whites, Latinos and Asians. It even crosses international borders.
